Plasma treatment for coronavirus sows good result
- The study included five critically ill patients with COVID-19. The preliminary test results were promising.
- The study indicated that preliminary results indicated that convalescent plasma transfusion may be useful in the treatment of critically ill patients with COVID-19 and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)
- After plasma transfusion, body temperature normalized in 3 days in 4 of 5 patients, the Sequential Assessment of Organ Failure score decreased, and the severity-determining ratio of ARDS increased by 12 days.

- VIMSAR is currently sending swab samples from suspected coronavirus patients to the Regional Medical Research Center (RMRC) in Bhubaneswar.
- The VIMSAR Junior Physicians Association (JDA) had requested the state government to establish two more COVID-19 laboratories, one at the VIMSAR institute and the other at the MKCG College
- The laboratory will appear in the hospital's microbiology department.
- Once the laboratory is ready, a polymerase chain reaction test with recombinant technology (rt PCR) can be performed to detect suspected cases of COVID-19.

- Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman has announced that debit cardholders can withdraw cash from any other bank's ATMs for free for the next three months.
- There will be no minimum balance requirements in bank accounts. The announcement comes as a closure, and curfews are being banned in many parts of India amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
- The Center also waived the minimum bank fees for bank savings accounts.
